// The highlights
01
Two days of trekking in the Atlas with local guides, a night in a mountain refuge, and the ascent of North Africa's highest peak at sunrise.
02
Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Aït Ben Haddou, the Berber villages and the Drâa valley. History and traditions, seen up close.
03
Heading into the heart of the Sahara. Camel drivers, dromedaries, endless dunes and oases — setting up camp, meals shared around the fire, nights bivouacking under the stars…
// Day by day
Nine days, from the red city to the southern dunes by way of North Africa's highest peak.
Arrival in Marrakech and check-in at a traditional riad. First alleys of the medina, colourful souks, scents of spice and sunset over the famous Jemaa el-Fna square. A first taste before the adventure begins.
An early departure to Imlil, a small village nestled in the heart of the Atlas. The trek to Toubkal begins: with local guides, we gradually climb the Berber valleys up to the high-altitude refuge where we spend the night.
Up before dawn. In the first light, we ascend North Africa's highest peak. The effort is rewarded with an exceptional view over the whole Atlas range, then we descend to Imlil and spend the evening in an authentic Berber village.
A drive through the High Atlas landscapes to one of Morocco's most beautiful kasbahs. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Aït Ben Haddou has been the backdrop for many films and series (Gladiator, Game of Thrones…). We explore its ochre-earth alleys before reaching Ouarzazate for the night.
Heading to M'Hamid, the last inhabited village before the vast Sahara. After lunch at the desert's edge, we reach the first great dunes of Erg Zahar. The camel caravan joins us for our first steps into the desert. At sunset, we set up the first nomadic bivouac among the dunes and spend our first evening under the stars.
The crossing continues through the wild landscapes of the Sahara. Guided by the camel drivers, we move at the caravan's pace between dunes, desert plateaus and vast stretches of sand. Little by little, landmarks vanish and the immersion becomes total. Another night bivouacking in the heart of the desert.
We continue our progress towards Erg Chegaga, one of Morocco's most impressive dune fields. Wilder and less visited, this area offers spectacular panoramas over the Saharan expanses. A day marked by disconnection, the silence of the desert and the beauty of the landscapes.
After a final wake-up in the desert and a few last moments among the dunes, we reach M'Hamid by 4x4 before taking the road back to Marrakech. A long return day — a chance to reflect on this timeless interlude lived at the rhythm of the Sahara and its nomadic traditions.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and journey home. The end of the adventure — but certainly not of the memories it leaves behind.

No particular experience is required. A good general level of fitness is recommended, however, to fully enjoy the Toubkal ascent and the days of walking in the desert.
